By Back to the Roots
Item #31000 Water Garden
The Water Garden is a closed-loop
ecosystem; a self-cleaning fish tank that allows fish to feed plants, and the plants
clean the water. The Water Garden is a
table-top Aquaponics system that is natural, earth friendly, healthy, self
sustaining, educational and a lot of fun.
Aquaponics is an sustainable method of natural
farming developed by the Aztecs. It uses 90% less water than traditional
farming and combines aquaculture (raising aquatic animals) with hydroponics
(cultivating plants in water alone). The Water Garden works as follows -
What plants grow best
Organic wheatgrass and basil seeds are
included with your Water Garden. Other
plants choices that work best are leafy greens and herbs such as parsley,
cilantro, mint, arugula, mixed greens, and other varieties of basil.
What types of fish can
I keep in my Water Garden?
Betta Fish are highly recommended since they
are hardy, don't get large, and are not highly sensitive to fluctuating ammonia
and nitrite levels. Zebra Danios and Guppies also work well with the Water
Garden. General fish tank capacity is 1
Betta or 2-3 Zebra or Guppies.
What is included -
1/12/2015 – Why are there two sprouting pitchers an only one lid?
Response From Healthnut Samson A&B Health Wholesale: One spouting pitcher has holes in the bottom. You put your seeds in that pitcher then insert it into the pitcher with no holes. It is a unit. Consequently you only need one lid.
